Treatment for Cellulite
Cellulite Treatments
Fat and cellulite are actually caused by islands of fat cells forming in the
upper layers of the skin. While exercise, diet and even surgical procedures such
as liposuction can be used to reduce accumulated fat in deeper layers, cellulite
is resistant to your best efforts at the gym and the best efforts of any surgeon.
Liposuction is not a treatment for cellulite, and yet occasionally cellulite does improve
after liposuction, however it also may worsen or stay the same.
The number of treatments available is a testament to the difficulty of treatment,
and none even claims to be a cure, only a treatment. There are multiple commercially
available creams as well as many methods of massage. Massage remains the most reliable
form of treatment, and can be manual or machine assisted such as with endermologie.
Another form of treatment is mesotherapy where a series of multiple injections are done.
The American Society of Plastic Surgeons put out a warning of the procedure as unproven.
A new form of treatment involves laser along with massage
With all of these, if thinking of spending a great deal of money to try out a method
of treatment, ask for references and see how it worked for someone else. Of course that doesn't
mean that it'll work for you, but at least it is a way to see if it sometimes seems to work well.
And I'd love to know how these methods work for you to be able to let patients know what is
available out there, so please email me at info@DrEveBruce.com with your experiences. Thanks.
